Strategy is the key to professional results.

“If you don't know where you are going, it doesn't matter which road you take.” A clear strategy gives companies and institutions a shared view of where they are headed, and of the best way to get there.

    Organisational strategy

We have broad experience of shaping and implementing strategy for companies and public institutions alike. Our approach puts real weight on the active participation of key stakeholders: staff, management and owners. That draws out the knowledge, experience and insight already held inside the organisation, and makes sure differing views get a hearing along the way.

Participation does more than sharpen the analysis and improve the strategy. It also lays the groundwork for implementation. When people have helped shape the strategy, understand what it rests on and can see their own part in it, shared understanding, ownership and genuine follow-through all become far more likely.

We work methodically with the data and information already at hand, and assess what further data or analysis is needed. For the analysis and the strategy work itself we use in-depth interviews, workshops and other participatory methods to surface the main challenges, opportunities and options. On that basis we work with the organisation to set priorities, choose the most promising routes and settle a clear strategy for the future.

Strategy delivers nothing unless it is followed through. That is where it usually gets hard. So we also take on project management and support through implementation, turning strategic goals into defined actions, owners, deadlines and follow-up. Experience shows this is precisely the stage at which far too many otherwise well-run strategy processes come to a halt.

    Marketing strategy

Marketing strategy work covers market and competitive analysis, target-group analysis and segmentation, brand positioning, and the overall marketing strategy. The work is tailored to the needs and current position of each brand, and is well suited to companies without a formal marketing strategy, or those who want to update their existing strategy or the foundation of their marketing.

    Marketing planning

Marketing planning is the structured design of the marketing activity for a brand that intends to go to market. Target-group targeting, the marketing-mix decisions, the activity schedule and the budget all come out of the planning process. It suits brands that already have a marketing strategy in place but need help building the action plan that puts it into motion.

    Web strategy

A site designed and built without a clear strategy easily ends up being a look rather than a tool that works towards the company's goals. So we start by defining the site's role, its purpose, its target groups and the goals it is meant to support, before any design or technical work begins.

Taking those decisions early makes the design and the development sharper and the choices along the way simpler, and it raises the odds that the finished site delivers something real. Careful preparation also heads off needless development, rework and cost later on, and saves both time and money.

Once the web strategy is settled we recommend Vefapp.is for the design and build of the new site.

We also take on more specialised strategy work, shaped to each client's needs.
